Our Nursery Day
Opening Hours
9am – 12.10pm
Our day begins at 9am with the children arriving with parents/carers. The children and parents/carers are greeted by a member of staff. This provides opportunities for parents/carers and staff to have informal dialogue. You are welcome to stay and play with your child at any point during nursery hours.
If your child will not be attending a session, please inform the school before 10am.
Free Play
The children chose activities freely and are encouraged to use their Daily Diaries as a form of planning. Free play lasts between one and a half hours and one and three quarter hours. During this time various activities are offered; art and crafts, baking, Science activities and Early Literacy and Numeracy.
Tidy Up
The children are encouraged to tidy up by themselves and wash their hands for snack.
Together Time
After snack and tooth brushing we get together for a story and discussion. After this we have opportunities for music, songs and physical play. Outside physical play is routinely incorporated into our nursery day.
Children are encouraged to play outside in our well-equipped garden. All weather suits and wellington boots are supplied I order for children to play in all weathers.
